In Hong Kong, as in other parts of the world, internationalisation is nowadays a constitutional element in higher education. It has become an agent of globalisation and is seen as an indispensable condition for the prosperity and global competitive performance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Student mobility is commonly envisaged as the most important factor in the process of internationalisation of higher education. And yet, little is known about the actual outcomes of stay abroad for Hong Kong students and for international students in Hong Kong.
Based upon the experience of an undergraduate program that includes a one-year compulsory stay abroad, Associate Professor Cabau is investigating the outcomes of academic mobility at the student, institutional, regional and international levels.
The lecture is hosted by the School of International Studies in the UTS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
